Team Tennessee of All American Football League Names Andy Kelly Head Coach
Prolific University of Tennessee Quarterback Returns to Knoxville to Coach AAFL Team

KNOXVILLE, TN - The All American Football League (AAFL) announced today during its final major combine that Andy Kelly has been named Head Coach of Team Tennessee. The announcement was made today by Keenan Davis, Vice President of League Operations and COO for the AAFL. 

Kelly brings Team Tennessee 14 years of professional playing experience, leading his teams from the quarterback position while with the Arena Football League.

"Andy Kelly has made significant contributions to the success of the University of Tennessee football program, and has done so for many years at the professional level as well," said Davis. "He brings to Knoxville, Team Tennessee and the AAFL a commitment that is unparalleled in his mission to build a successful team and to promote the values of athletics and academics in the state of Tennessee."

Kelly returns to Knoxville where he led the Volunteers football team as quarterback from 1988-91. After setting numerous UT and SEC passing records, he went on to a prolific career as quarterback in the Arena League, spending time with the Charlotte Rage, the New Orleans Voodoo, the Kansas City Brigade and the Utah Blaze. Kelly also attended Rhea County High School in Dayton, Tennessee where he won Gatorade All-America honors as a senior.

"Returning to Knoxville to take on a coaching position with the AAFL is a great honor for me," said Kelly. "I look forward to building upon Tennessee's football tradition, passion and history, and will lead Team Tennessee with unlimited energy, enthusiasm and leadership." said Kelly.

The All American Football League's spring schedule is designed to satisfy fans who hunger for quality football between the NFL and college seasons.  The League's teams are located in avid college football markets representing Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Michigan and Texas in addition to Tennessee. Team Tennessee will play its home games at the University of Tennessee's Neyland Stadium.
