Team Arkansas to Get First Pick in Inaugural Draft

ATLANTA, GA – The All American Football League (AAFL) randomly selected the 2008 Draft Order during League meetings at its largest national combine in Knoxville last Thursday and Friday.

The AAFL Draft will be held on January 26, 2008 beginning at 11:00 a.m., EST.

Team Arkansas came away with rights to the first pick of the inaugural draft.

2008 Draft Order

1.Team Arkansas   (Head Coach Ron Calcagni)
2.Team Tennessee  (Head Coach Andy Kelly)
3.Team Texas         (Head Coach John Jenkins)
4.Team Florida        (Head Coach Shane Matthews)
5.Team Michigan   (Head Coach John Fontes)
6.Team Alabama   (Head Coach Mike Jones)

Draft Selection Order by Round

Round 1: Teams will select players according to the selected draft order
Round 2: Teams will select players according to the reverse of the selected draft order
Rounds 3, 5, 7 and 9: Same order as Round 1
Rounds 4, 6, 8 and 10: Same order as Round 2

Timing of Draft Selections

Rounds 1-2: Teams will have four (4) minutes to make their selection
Rounds 3-4: Teams will have three (3) minutes to make their selection
Rounds 5-10: Teams will have two (2) minutes to make their selection

The draft pool will close on January 7, 2008 at 4 PM EST. Teams must submit their list of protected players (players who played collegiately within that team’s state) to the league office by January 19, 2008, 4 PM EST.

Player Eligibility

The 2008 Draft Pool will close on January 7, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. EST. By that time, players must have satisfied the following set of criteria to be eligible for the draft:

• Attended a league combine, workout or tryout, or have a written scouting report from an AAFL coach, scout or player personnel official on file at the league office

• Have a signed AAFL Draft Eligible Player Agreement on file at the league office

• Have verification of their college degree and official transcripts on file at the league office
