AAFL Team Texas Newsletter: February 29, 2008
It has been another busy week for Team Texas. Our players have been out in the community almost every day, frequently showing up at local schools to help kids at car pool time and greet them as they arrive. We had a very successful media lunch at College Station, where five of our seven players from Texas A&M and Head Coach John Jenkins met with media who cover the Aggies. We also had Phillip Geiggar, Larry Hayden, Vince Strang and ticket manager Kyle Dawson on CNN 650's business show.
We are taking part in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo parade this weekend with half-a-million people expected in attendance and many more watching on television. A group of players and team personnel will be walking in the parade and passing out promotional items. Another group of players, Coach Jenkins and I will be riding on a float.
Also this weekend, Coach Jenkins will appear live on Fox 26 in Houston as the featured guest on Fox Sports Extra at 10 p.m. He will join host Matt Sampsell to talk about Team Texas and the All American Football League®.
On the football side, the players are getting antsy and are ready to start practicing. Our equipment and training staffs are working hard to make sure that pads, uniforms, medical supplies, etc., are ready to go once training camp starts.
