RE: AAFL League Newsletter: January 15, 2008; Will Team Michigan Have the Most Fans?

Some advanced warning for the non-Michigan AAFL Teams...playing Team Michigan at Ford Field might be a hostile environment. The state of Michigan has begun gearing up for the AAFL's arrival in April, and we can expect a big fan base in the state.

MLive.com, Michigan's most popular news and information site, posted information about its AAFL team in its blog yesterday. The post, "Tickets on sale soon for All-American Football League", mentions some of the familiar faces that Team Michigan will have playing for it, like Darnell Hood, Rondell Biggs, and Tyrece Butler.

Finally, this post by sports blogger Jonathan Colomb does a great job explaining the breakdowns within the XFL, NFL Europe, and the USFL, and how the AAFL has avoided the pitfalls of those leagues and is poised to succeed.

Best regards.

P.S. If you're starting to miss the college football season already, we posted a great feature on the AAFL blog titled "Top 25 College Football Teams to Watch in 2008." The post features our top 25 picks for next year's college season, and includes video highlights of our top 10 picks. But as you know, you won't have to wait until late August to see your favorite college players competing again; this year, your wait will only be until April 12, when the AAFL season kicks off!
